The Gulf has some fun energy today, but conditions remain dangerous with strong currents and storm chances. Stay alert, y’all! 🤙⚠️

🏄 Surf Report:
• SSE swell producing 1–2+ ft surf with set waves 2–3+ ft
• Primary swell: SE (144°) 4.5 ft @ 6 sec
• Plenty of moving water with the dropping tide.

💨 Wind Report:
• Recent winds averaging 14 mph from the SSE 🌬️
• As of 9:36 AM: SSE (165°) at 17 mph
• Strong onshore winds continue to add texture.

🌊 Tides:
🌅 High: 2.1 ft at 7:04 AM
🌙 Low: -0.9 ft at 9:44 PM

That’s a huge tidal swing with a lot of water moving through the channel and sandbars.

🚩 BEACH SAFETY ALERT: RED FLAGS FLYING!

Yesterday I helped rescue two boys who were caught in a fast-moving rip current and pulled beyond the second sandbar. Another surfer and I got the kids onto our boards and paddled them safely back to shore before additional help arrived. There were four lifeguards in their tower, and they deployed after we already had the boys secured and heading in.

This isn’t criticism of anyone—it’s a reminder that rip currents move FAST and conditions can change in seconds.

Parents and beachgoers: when the waves are up, please don’t go beyond waist deep, especially with children. Yesterday could have ended very differently. 🙏🌊
