The Gulf is showing some serious energy today, y’all! Big surf, strong currents, and storm chances mean it’s a day to stay alert and pick your windows carefully. 🤙⚠️
🏄 Surf Report:
• Big and washed-out SE swell running 3–5 ft+
• Dominant period: 8 seconds
• Expect bumpy and challenging conditions with plenty of moving water
• More experienced surfers will find some opportunities, but use caution around the jetties and channel.
💨 Wind Report:
• As of 10:36 AM: SSE (160°) at 15 mph
• Strong onshore winds continue to add texture and push water down the beach. 🌬️🌊
🌊 Tides:
🌅 High Tide: 2.1 ft at 6:04 AM
🌙 Low Tide: -0.9 ft at 8:44 PM
That’s a massive tidal swing today with a lot of water moving through the channel and along the beach.
🚩 Beach Safety:
Red Flags are flying for dangerous rip currents. Conditions can change quickly, so keep a close eye on family members and avoid swimming near the jetties unless you’re experienced. Safety first! 🙏
