Happy Tuesday, everyone! We've got a solid easterly swell rolling into the Texas coast, warm Gulf water, and a mix of clouds, sunshine, and passing showers. Here's what's happening on North Padre Island today!

🏄‍♂️ SURF: Chest-to-shoulder-high ESE short-period wind swell this morning, with occasional head-high sets! Dropping into the waist-to-chest range for the afternoon. Expect some texture as the easterly breeze picks up.

🌊 SWELL: Buoy 42092 reading E 5.9 ft @ 9 seconds. Plenty of Gulf energy rolling through Packery!

💨 WINDS: E around 10 mph, increasing to 10–15 mph this afternoon.

⛅ WEATHER: Starting around 71°F with clouds and morning showers. Expect scattered showers with breaks of sunshine, a high near 82°F, and temperatures in the upper 70s this evening. Watch for passing thunderstorms!

🌡️ WATER TEMP: Approximately 76°F. Trunks or a spring suit depending on your comfort!

🎣 FISHING: Redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and pompano are worth targeting around the jetties and surf. Try live shrimp, finger mullet, cut bait, or soft plastics. Look for moving water and bait activity along the channel edges!

🚩 BEACH SAFETY: RED FLAGS FLYING for heavy rip currents! Use extreme caution in the water, stay away from the jetties, and watch for changing weather conditions. The beach is washed out from the high tide, so use caution!
